Please check out our galleries for new and fabulous artwork! There will be more to come this week as well as an update on our current projects. As always, we would love to hear from you...
Look at our oh-so-cute artists painting in the style of the Impressionists! Look for their completed Fall landscapes coming soon! What is your artist creating in the Art Studio right now?
Kindergarten - "Rocket Writes a Story" Painting
Please make sure that your artist has a smock (kept in the classroom). Many classes are starting painting lessons and accidents happen (usually most often to those not wearing a smock.:). While most supplies are considered washable, please remember - don't wear your best clothes on art day!
Smocks can simply be an old (bit larger) shirt that can be pulled over the head. If using a button down, please trim sleeves. As a note, while I do have extra smocks for special situations, I do not keep a supply for each child. I believe it is better to have one that fits them properly and that is not shared by others so that we can keep as healthy as possible! In addition, it saves precious art time when they come in ready to create. The Back to School Art Studio News is hot off the press!
Students may have brought it home today or may bring it home tomorrow. A copy of the news can also be found under the "Art Studio News" link to the left. All future news will be found on this site so please check back often. We had a fabulous first week and are ready to create! Lots of artwork continues to travel home!
Please check out our newly posted artwork in ALL GALLERIES. From this... to this. :( Monday through Wednesday this week - any remaining artwork is on its way home! Please ask your student about his/her projects (you can learn a bit about them in the gallery links to the left).
Speaking of artwork, I have mentioned these frames to some of you but thought I would post: Great frames that come with a mat, hinged front, space to store work. They are really fabulous! The standard size that we use at school is 12x18. Sometimes we also use 9x12 or 18x24. Li'l Davinci Frames by Dynamic Frames Wow! It is almost June. How did that happen?!
Please check out our newly posted artwork by 1st and 5th graders. (More fabulous work by all other grades will be coming this week as well. Look for Kindergarten bird baths, 1st grade "Home" clay frames with family portraits, 2nd grade Hundertwasser cities, 3rd grade still lifes and clay columns, and 4th grade fish prints.) Next week is our annual Short Pump Town Center art show! The show will be on display in the food court area starting May 29th (closes June 2nd). We will celebrate the opening Wednesday, May 30th at 4:30 p.m. Please join us! Please visit our grade level galleries for newly posted creations! Wonderful job students!
